My Sims 3 Addiction

I am completely hooked on The Sims 3. However, my Sims obsession did not start with the newest game. I have been a fan since the first Sims came out years ago. I was one of those people who bought each new expansion pack as it came out and loved the new objects and extras that added to my Sims little world.

I waited a long time to purchase/play the Sims 2. I was very attached to my original Sims and I wasn't ready to start new characters. When I did finally buy a copy of the game I found that I didn't really like it as much as the original. I'm not exactly sure what my problem was with it, but I never bought an expansion pack for it and for the most part would play the original Sims rather than the newer game.

Then came The Sims 3...

For me this game takes the features that were great about the first two games and then expands on them in new and better ways. I love that my neighborhood is so interactive and that the NPC Sims are out living their lives and the world is continuously changing.

When I first started playing I simply created my Sims and put them in a town. I didn't really take the time to explore some of the new editing options and things. However, in the last few days I have found all new tools and editing features that make the game even more interesting to me.

In order to try and explore all the features of the game, I created what I had thought would be a throw away character. He has become the most interesting Sim I play and I'm really enjoying watching where his story is going.

My Sims story:

Nathan started off as a single guy, living alone in a small one bedroom house. His dream was to become a Superstar Athlete. He is Good, Charismatic, Family-Oriented, Brave & Athletic. I decided that he would be quite the ladies man, being a single athlete and he developed quite a few "romantic interests" in town. He has also travelled to China and France. He has seen his dream of being a Superstar Athlete come true and he is also a great painter, an amazing cook and extremely charismatic.

My character now has 12 kids, with 3 different mothers. He finally married the mother of his youngest and moved in with her, the baby and the mother-in-law. They moved into the loft that shares a common backyard with the two lofts of the mothers’ of his other kids. He had his two oldest boys move in with him and the new wife, but left the five daughters with their mother. Then I had him go next door to check on his other daughters. I found out that the daughters live there still, but the mother moved out and left them with her friend.

In other neighborhood news:

The Bunch family lost both of their young daughters. The oldest died of starvation while the younger one died of electrocution. The father died of old age.

Mrs. Clavell lost her husband, Buster, to old age. Now she is left to deal with her lazy son who won’t get a job or his own place.

Monica French died of starvation, leaving her daughter to live with Monica’s freaky boyfriend, Jared Frio (he has quite a temper).
